Visiting

It snowed the morning of the day that we were supposed to fly into Chicago. Our plane was delayed about 7 1/2 hours but we finally made it and got to enjoy the residue.

We stayed in my sister's dorm for several nights. I lived there during my sophomore year. My old floor is now a men's floor but we were able to poke our noses in my room during an open floor.

We wandered around downtown Wheaton on Saturday so that Jonathan could see the town. The ghetto Jewel-Osco appears to be no longer open. For those of us without the luxury of cars, this is the location withing walking distance where one acquired such things as shampoo and ramen noodles and the occasional vegetable. My brother gave me some tea from SereneTeaz for Christmas a couple of years ago. I highly recommend a visit if you are ever in the area. They were delightfully accomodating as we arrived about ten minutes before closing and will brew a sample cup of anything that they sell so that you can try it before you buy several ounces. I left with a bag of ginger peach black tea that went beautifully in scones later that day.

Ah, the Public Library! Home of so many peaceful afternoons curled up in a corner with a book-not studying. It was also a great place to stop in and warm up the extremities on the walk home from the ghetto Jewel.

The proper sized Jewel where we went to get supplies for the Easter feast.

We went to Ben's church for Easter worship.

And back to Ben's apartment to make dinner.
He did not have any aprons so we improvised with an old youth group mission trip shirt. It was fun to try to cook in someone else's kitchen and even more fun to have others clean up afterwards. It also made me very grateful for my well-equipped cupboards and pantry.

Followed by a very necessary nap!
