Project Journal Project

After agonizing over how to find a journal that fit my requirements, I found a simple blank composition book at the University Bookstore that is working quite well. The idea of making a custom book is still enticing but I am far happier with this one than I expected to be. Of course, I didn't leave it in its original, boring state.

Using the directions here and some of the things learned on my first attempt, I covered it with a textured card stock that was originally left over from a framing project.

This leafy paper was left over from our wedding invitations.

The spine will be covered with another piece of fabric in mimicry of the original look and to strengthen the whole book. I will be carrying it around with me so that I can write down ideas as they come so it needs to hold up under some hard usage.

Update: It has already been more useful than I imagined it would be. Not only is it easier to find the various stages of project ideas, I am actually getting more accomplished by shortening the design stage.

Embroidery patterns and a pattern and yarn ideas for a knitted lace wrap.
